Little Miss Ella is 7 months old now! Time sure flies! She had her 6 month wellness appointment the other weekend and is doing well :o) She is healthy and growing but still on the smaller side. She's our little peanut! She weighed in at 15lbs., 7 oz. (22%), 26 inches (39%), and her noggin was 16.75" (37%). The doctor thought the length could be a little off but it seems to be pretty close. Her recent case of bronchiolitis has cleared up but she woke up with a little runny nose today so hopefully we aren't about to see another little cold; this girl has had enough! Ella's bald spot is slowly growing in and doesn't look as obvious now. She is still a very happy baby and adored by many which warms our hearts. She is considered to be a REALLY good baby at daycare which has a minor downside... when they need to make sure the room ratios are correct, they move some children to another room. Since Ella is such a great baby, she gets picked to be moved :( She probably got moved at least twice this past week which meant she didn't get to see Ms. Luci as much. She loves Ms. Luci and so do we.
Getting ready for the snow |

Spending a snow day being the cutest niece |
Another snow day! |
And ANOTHER snow day |
We go really tired of being stuck in the house for three days since Virginia has no real plans for snow and people go nuts when it does snow. Ella didn't get the memo about snow days and sleeping in. Some mornings, very early, Julie would wake up to hearing this...
The Salvation Army is missing out on some serious marketing...who would pass this up...
Wonder how Ella liked the snow? Take a look at her reaction...
Julie
Julie had her first ever sinus infection last week. Well, she had it longer than that but thought it was just her cold and TMJ but slowly symptoms starting to change and realized it was a sinus infection. She was able to get in to the doctor and get some antibiotics which helped out almost immediately. Z packs are a wonderful thing.
Snowpocalypse in VA |
There were also MORE snow days for Virginia Beach which has now turned into a nightmare for everyone. Last week school was cancelled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There was probably about 8 inches of snow. When we got back to school, we found out that not only did we lose a staff work day for a make-up day but we had to make up two days worth on our own (before & after school, etc.). So how we were going to make up these new set of snow days was making everyone curious. Thursday night everyone got phone calls and here is what they decided... the 3 make up days would be SATURDAYS, February 15th, March 29th, ad April 26th.
The statement above is the reasoning they gave for picking Saturdays. VBCPS has 183 of instruction, the minimum is 180 days. The extra 3 are what put us "ahead of the curve". Needless to say, work on Friday was very interesting and tense at times...a LOT of unhappy people. It will be interesting to see how next Saturday ends up and how many students and staff are actually at school.
To be continued...
Curtis
Curtis celebrated his 35th birthday on the ship! So far we haven't been able to celebrate his birthday as a family since he entered the navy. He also celebrated his 2 year Navy Anniversary!

Curtis should be coming home within the week! We are all VERY excited for this. He will get to spend TWO FULL days with Ella because Julie has school on Saturday, February 15th and President's Day on the 17th. They will get some good Daddy/Daughter bonding time in! Curtis and Jim might have to fight for Ella attention and playtime ;)
Backdated Pictures and Videos
Once Curtis is home, we will try to get the video of Ella's first food experience put up here. Here are some 5 and 6 month pictures...
