23 Weeks

As you can see from our lovely countdown, Baby Spencer is now the size of a grapefruit.

TheBump.com tells us this...
She is forming little nipples, her face is fully formed but needs some extra fat to fill it out, she is listening to our voices and even loud sounds like car honks and dog barks.

Now, in our case, she is hearing jet noise and a cat meowing!  ;)

We ended up calling about Julie's pain near the left ribs and were basically told "someone is probably playing around in there" but it could also be inflamed muscles.  Needless to say, Julie tried to have a little chat with her and said IF she is "playing around" that she is MORE than welcome to stop because that same spot near the ribs is not pleasant. It seems to be getting a little better, or tolerable, hard to tell.  Bright side, it's only one side and not both.  Knock on wood!  Julie was highly amused by the answer she got over the phone but better safe than sorry to check.

All is well for us on the home front. We are excited and thankful to have some baby gifts arrive on our door step. We will have to make sure we stock up on thank you cards and stamps! Julie will be flying out in a couple weeks to IL for baby showers and is excited to see everyone :)

Stay tuned....

NEXT Friday we will post 4 belly pictures for weeks 21-24!

Nothing too exciting to report...

As the title of this post says, we don't have anything too exciting to post or share.  We wanted to let you know that we have not forgotten about the blog and all of you!

Week 22 Stats thanks to TheBump.com....
Baby Spencer should have more developed eyes and lips and looking more like a newborn.  She will also be sleeping in cycles of 12-14 hours per day.

We are still taking Friday night pictures but we'd like to post a few at a time so in a week or two we should be posting a group of 4 belly pictures.  On the bump front, Baby Spencer has officially decided to stop hiding.  Julie has been asked by a couple students now at school if she is pregnant and they seem to be very interested.  Some of the office ladies are getting a chuckle because she officially looks pregnant now.

Julie thinks she feels some baby movement but nothing that says "yes, that is definitely her."  Baby Spencer must be making herself comfortable because Julie has some rib pain that is causing some discomfort at the moment. :-\  We are waiting to see what happens when she can feel kicks and Béla decides to lay on her stomach!

In the mean time, work is going well for us both.  Julie has been doing some crafting of burp rags and bibs like she made for friends when they had babies.  She found some patterns on how to make pacifier clips and door jammers and is making some for us.  Unfortunately, Béla has figured out how to open the doors that have the jammers on them so we took those off for now to trick her.  Sometimes she is too smart for her own good!

Curtis hand selected a gift for baby Spencer today....extremely ADORABLE...he got to put the white Navy bear together with an Officer bear :)  The bag is also a backpack!  She is one lucky baby because she already has such a GREAT daddy :)

All is well in the Spencer house and we hope that all of you are doing well.

Until next time!

Halfway and Pictures Weeks 16-20

We are now at the halfway mark, 20 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie's most recent check-up was good.  She has gained a total of 11lbs so far and the Captain and assistants are happy that she caught up!  According to the ultrasound from February 1st, they said the due date is June 29th but the Captain said we are sticking to June 27th.  Julie predicts that Baby Spencer will be a July baby though... Guess what this leads to!  A NEW poll!!  If you look to the right you will see the poll in the margins to vote for the week you think she will arrive (we didn't want to overwhelm you with options).  The poll will close June 1st.  Happy voting!!

Next check-up will be in 6 weeks and a glucose test which will happen over Spring Break.  I don't think a glucose test was part of the activities Julie had planned for Spring Break. ;)

And now for the pictures some of you have been waiting for....

Belly picture time!!

As promised, here are belly pictures from Weeks 16-20.  Julie is taking one for the team and getting over the embarrassment of pictures to share.  Her face MIGHT be turning red as we post this for all of you. ;)

Some days Julie's belly does a disappearing trick but we are taking pictures each Friday night which also happens to be the start of her next week.  Some people at Julie's work are still in disbelief that there is a baby in there but we have picture proof ;)

2 New Blog Features

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to let you know there are two new features on our blog!

The first is a countdown to baby Spencer's arrival above the posts (look up).  It will tell you how far along Julie is and how many days are left until baby Spencer's due date, June 27th.  It will also show you a comparison of how big, or little depending on how you look at it, the baby is.   For example, at 19 weeks, she is the size of a mango!

Second, we have an email subscription box to the right -----> Over there! (And a little up.)  You can enter your email address and click submit to receive an email every time we make a new post.  The choice is yours!

We hope you will enjoy these new features :)

Until next time!!

It's a.......

Our technician had a little fun with labeling...ENJOY!!

A GIRL
In case you missed it...
She labeled a few times to prove it ;)

Profile picture of Miss Spencer

Sucking her thumb
The Spine, pretty cool to see!

Some more of the spine and ribs
One arm

Another arm picture
Her legs

One foot with tootsies
Both feet as she sits cross legged but at least she cooperated!

From everything they could see, Baby Spencer is looking good, healthy, and on schedule!  She was sitting with her legs crossed so she will fit in just fine with how we both sit. :)  Curtis will be outnumbered by females 3:1(Julie, Baby Spencer, and Béla)!  Poor guy, we will have to make sure he gets plenty of boy time!  We are both VERY happy to have a healthy baby and some fun pictures to share with all of you!  The ultrasound technology was amazing and our technician was awesome.
The pictures were all thankfully on a CD and we didn't have to scan them all in, phew!

Today is also the start of Week 19 and will be a picture day.  We started taking pictures at Week 16 and IF Julie can stop being a wimp, we will post belly pictures from weeks 16-20 next Saturday.

On a job related note, Curtis' 1 year Navy Anniversary was yesterday, January 31st!  As Julie put it, Happy Navyversary!!

Happy Friday everyone :-D
